Brilliant Violence

i've been talking into mirrors
things are not as they appear
now it's time to stop pretending
you keep searching for the answer
in crowded rooms with shadow dancers
stop the world turn on the silence
watch it erupt in Brilliant Violence
had to let it go
now you want flowers from this desert
to walk as one and shed the hairshirt
stop the world turn on the silence
watch it erupt in brilliant violence

we're wide awake to feel the horns of the day
a wind-up gaze to see the bones in their wake
we'll set a course to stay alive
when you're afraid there's a light up in space
a blind-lit faith that this must be the place
on the straight and narrow

Dark Secret
05:24
|
|||
the kids in the hall have no secrets at all
they live on the scene
unaware of your Dark Secret
the kids in the hall have no recourse at all
they live on the scene
unaware of your dark secret
wake up
won't you

A Dull Wind
06:12
|
|||
last night, the last fight
alone you walk again
a slow bleed to where the sidewalk ends
this farce it's incorruptible
the waves just swell in time
untouched, a thousand days gone by
we tried to live between the pain and the pleasure
but the passion was no good
we tried to live within the weights and the measures
but the madness intrudes
(you put your nails in and try to puncture the skin
you put your nails in, sometimes I wonder)
in a dream discarded sympathies
conspire to hold you down
stared towards the sun
and now the rainbow's high, so high
outside, will you believe for me
the air is growing thin
it's in your eyes, your bloodshot eyes
A Dull Wind

Circle

you cast the night and make me serve
an image so dark it's in reverse
you make me work, this lover's curse
an image so dark it's in reverse
let us drink the wine
to this mad design
let us rob the fountain
let us be divine
take our fortune keep it up your sleeve
take our fortune give us what we need
draw a Circle around your feed
take our fortune give us what we need

Devoid
06:15
|
|||
strip the picture of the element
seed the breakdown in your head
destroy the wavelength of an audient
on the breakdown of the element
scattered driving, no resonance
never again is what you said
and now the breakdown of the elegance
and now the breakdown
drill into the picture everyone's paranoid
drill into the picture everyone seems Devoid
ono sideboard is off the grid
sent a message to feed your head
in the mind-warp pavilion
drill into the picture everyone seems devoid
drill into the picture everyone's paranoid

closer now the gathering hour
is drifting through my mind
in The Brightest Death of Morning
further out a man devours
and sits still in his pride
where's the son?
closer now the gathering crowd
is shifting with the tide
in the brightest death of morning
while all around a distant sound
is sinking in the wine
where's the son?
evergreen, evergreen
in the brightest death of morning
evergreen, evergreen
where's the son?

Next up was the sonic LSD experience of Visitors. I could have listened to this band play for hours. The music resonated with a droning, dreamy quality that would ebb & flow between soft space to crunchy guitar/drum. Ethereal vocals added the cherry on top of this psychedelic adventure.
